About Me

Name: Rob
Age: 25
Location: Essex, UK
Experience: 8yrs / Self-taught
Application: Cinema 4D

I started using Cinema 4D back when version 6 was released on a 3D magazine my friend brought. We both started using it to try and create real looking objects, each of us out-doing the other when we next see eachother. Needless to say he stopped doing it and I carried on using the program and teaching myself using basic online tutorials to understand the basics.

Eventually I was able to create very basic poly objects.. I don't remember when I started to understand polygons, points & edges, I just started modelling more things using tools like extrude and bevel. I modelled increasingly complex models untill I seemed to peek..

The thing missing: NURBS modelling!. So I started playing with that and studied how the NURBS smoothing worked with the base mesh. Once I understood that I started looking at real life objects and creating a mental image of their mesh and making them.

I never imagined I'd be able to model things like cars because of the complex shapes and flowing line, but I gave it a shot and was infact able to model them.

I can pretty much model anything now, but the only thing I dont bother with is character modelling as it's not interesting to me right now, it might be in the future, but with the majority of things being inorganic, I'm not short on things to make.. :)
